چکیده

One approach to solve the end to end (E2E) quality of services (QoS) problem of multimedia services delivery over multi-domain IP heterogeneous network infrastructures in a scaleable manner is the establishment of long term QoS enabled aggregated pipes. To allow dynamism, the actual service invocation of these pipes can be made as a separate action from the pipes subscription. This paper proposes a service invocation admission control algorithm that can be applied to aggregated IP pipes taking into account new service requests and the actual utilization of the domain resources of the subscribed pipes. 2007 Elsevier B.V. Diffserv extensions for QoS provisioning in IP mobility environments

QLN QLN Domain A Mobile station A QGS Radio access network Radio access network Local IP network DiffServ itself lacks a simple and scalable bandwidth resource management scheme for a dynamic environment as an IP-based RAN. It is, therefore, necessary to extend DiffServ model for admission control and on-demand resource reservation under IP mobility environments.

Admission Control for Providing QoS in DiffServ IP Networks : The TEQUILA Approach

Admission control is a key component for QoS delivery in IP networks because it determines the extent to which network resources are utilized and whether the contracted QoS characteristics are actually delivered. Unlike most of the existing approaches, we adopt a holistic view and position the admission control in a unified architecture, where traffic engineering and service management interact...

Definition and Performance Evaluation of a Distributed and Stateless Algorithm for QoS Support in IP Domains with Heterogeneous Traffic

Distributed Admission Control in IP DiffServ environments is an emerging and promising research area. Distributed admission control solutions share the idea that no coordination among network routers (i.e. explicit signaling) is necessary, when the decision whether to admit or reject a new offered flow is pushed to the edge of the IP network. Proposed solutions differ in the degree of complexit...

A linear chained approach for service invocation in IP Multimedia Subsystem

IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) is considered to provide multimedia services to users through an IP-based control plane. A service-centric IP quality of service architecture for next generation networks

IP Differentiated Services is widely seen as the framework to provide Quality of Service (QoS) in the Internet in a scalable fashion. However many issues have still not been fully addressed, such as: the way Per-Hop Behaviours can be combined to provide end-to-end services; the specification of admission control and resource reservation mechanisms; and the role of management plane functionality...
